Introducing Eric Adams FotoMethod.

Hi! I'm Eric and I am excited to introduce my new training program Eric Adams FotoMethod. Let me first tell you a little about me and why I am qualified to be doing this.

First, I have been a professional photographer for 34 years. I am primarily self-taught. The way I learned the essential principles that I will teach you is through trial and error over years and tens of thousands of sessions. Over those sessions, I was able to directly see what worked and what didn't. Experience is a fantastic teacher if you have the time, patience and a continual flow of customers.

My first sixteen years were working for my father in his nationwide photography business. In that time, I photographed thousands of families quickly. Some days, I would shoot 20 sessions per day! The repetition allowed me to test various principles and see firsthand what worked and what didn't. 

After I worked for several years as a photographer for my father, I started training other new photographers. I became the person that would fly to a new studio and hire and train the new photographers. I trained those without any photography experience and made them professional photographers. I estimate that I trained over one thousand photographers in that time - from start to finish.

My father sold that company and I moved on to open my own studio. I named it FotoFly. My goal was to provide affordable, yet beautiful, family portraits for the Utah area. I opened the first studio in 2010 and we currently operate four successful studios in Utah. We are likely one of the busiest portrait studios in America. In the past 16 years that we've been open, I've trained hundreds of photographers - again, from start to finish.

With my experience with my father's company and my own, I've trained over 2,000 photographers - taking them from amateurs to professional. 

In 2014, I started a photography training academy called FotoFly Academy. We've trained dozens of photographers. Each of these students paid $12,000-$15,000 for a four month course. Many of these graduates have gone on to open their own successful photography businesses. The challenge has been price and difficulty. $12,000 to 15,000 is a lot of money for the average person to gather. Attending an academy for four solid months is also difficult. It's motivated me to develop an easier way of learning for those who have demanding schedules.

Over my career, I've developed a very specific way of training. I've broken down complex photography principles into smaller, more teachable mechanics. Instead of trying to understand an amorphous concept, you will learn concrete principles that will allow you to progressively become better and better in a shorter amount of time. You will not need to simply learn from trial and error over the course of years. I can guide you through the process so you're not struggling to figure out what works and what doesn't as I did. It is truly a FotoMethod. I'm teaching a method that, if followed, you will create professional, beautiful, natural portraits of any age group.

In this Eric Adams FotoMethod, you will learn how to photograph:

You'll also learn how to:

• Operate your camera fully to give you complete control over what you create. You'll also understand what camera and what lens is right for you. You'll learn how to control motion blur. You'll be able to blur the background to give a portrait quality to your images. 
• Master natural light. You'll know the basics about how to create a portrait light ratio and control highlights and shadows in almost any situation. You'll see the opportunities all around you to create amazing portraits using natural light.
• Use speedlights. You'll know how to make them look natural. You'll feel completely confident that you can handle literally any BAD light situation with your speedlight. You'll also learn how to do cool effects with your speedlight.
• Create with studio lights. I'll mostly focus on how to use a single studio flash to create different styles of light to give your portraits a higher level of variety. You'll be able to communicate a specific emotion and style in your portraits by shaping the shadows on your subject.
• Control children. Eric is most experienced at controlling children. He'll teach you the specific mechanics of his unique technique. Instead of chasing children hoping to get lucky, you'll be able to position, distract and amuse children of all ages.
• Lightroom and Photoshop. I'll teach you the key functions of each of these essential programs. In Lightroom, I'll show you how to quickly cull and beautifully edit a large number of images in a very short amount of time. In Photoshop, you'll learn how to swap heads and make big corrections like liquifying your subject's body to make her look perfect! 

For only $37 per month, you'll receive the following:

1. Monthly training courses on each of the above categories of session and photography topics. These won't just be me talking into the camera. These will show behind-the-scenes video of real sessions with real customers - not paid runway models. these videos will also include diagrams and graphics that will help you understand the principles that I'm teaching. 2. Monthly LIVE Q&A and Image Critique. Members may submit images to critque and I will review twenty images that I feel will provide the most instructional value to the group. I'll also open it up to questions from members on any topic.
3. Community Membership. You'll be a part of the Eric Adams FotoMethod community. Post images and receive feedback. Provide and receive support and ideas. We can all learn from each other in this private forum!
4. Access to All Past Monthly Training and Q/A and Image Critique. You'll be able to watch any past videos. This will be an ever-growing library of learning.
