My Story

After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eric began working as a children's photographer for his father Scott Adams. Scott's business was Kiddie Kandids - a nationwide photography studio. Eric worked for his father for 16 years. In that time, Kiddie Kandids grew from 18 studios to 187 across 30 states in the U.S. Eric's role grew from Photographer to District Manager to Regional Manager to Training Director to VP of Human Resources. Eric's primary function was training new photographers. He would travel around the country hiring and training photographers. In almost every case, he was training someone without any experience. In those 16 years, Eric developed his ability to train someone from scratch and make them a professional photographer.

Kiddie Kandids was eventually sold to a venture capital group who quickly bankrupted the company. In 2010, Eric started a new children/family photography company located in Utah named FotoFly. In 2026, FotoFly has four studios and is the busiest, most successful photography company in Utah - if not the United States. All sessions are done by photographers Eric has trained personally.

Eric's passion, second to photography itself, is to train aspiring photographers. He loves seeing amateurs develop into professionals.

"Thank you to Eric Adams for giving me the opportunity to learn valuable skills, which in turn, has helped me grow a successful and lucrative business."

"I don’t think any other mentorship or online education would have been as successful if I hadn’t had a great intro dive into all that photography is. I learned about gear, tools, software, posing, lighting, expression and client interaction among many other subjects. The most valuable thing I took from this apart from the education was the friendships and connections I made in the industry. I’m glad this was my first photography education because I was able to develop good building blocks, skills and habits to grow from there. Throughout the years I have been able to reach back out for advice and mentorship. "

"I have now been a professional photographer for almost 7 years, getting a start with so much knowledge and confidence under my belt really helped move my business forward. I have since earned my Certified Professional Photographer and Master Photographer degrees from Professional Photographers of America, as well as been published in several magazines and have won awards for my photography in competitions. I owe it all to my solid start from FotoFly Academy!"
